No Stop Lights

I have a 1998 ranger and just found out that i dont have brake lights. All other lights work ,but when the pedal is pressed nothing. I checked the fuses, replaced the bulbs, replaced the stop light switch and still no lights . I dont know what else to do any advice?

Re: No Stop Lights

I would fix the brake pedal in the "on" position with a stick and put a light tester to the socket and then the wires. I would think you are grounding out some where.

Had the same problem with my 92 Ranger. One brake ligh work, one not, then both were gone than the other would work. Turned out to be a live wire grounding out.

Re: No Stop Lights

Well i figured it out . I knew it was'nt the wiring or a short or grounding out. It was the multi function switch seems that ford has a lot of these to be faulty. Most noteably for the wipers to act up. Hope this can help someone else who has a similar problem as i did.
