Re: not starting in the rain

first of all welcome to the reason ford went bankrupt, all the ppl here keping the old ford cars on the road, lol.
ive got a couple hunches but lets start with the facts. When you tested it for spark you pulled a wire right off a plug right, and tested it or did you test the wire off the coil that feeds the dist.? #2 ther is a hood on this ranger right? #3 when it raining and you try and you try start it does she turn over normaly or is it sort of a half a** roll over?

My hunch is this whats you elevation and geograpic location? Is there a lot of mostiure in the air?

Now without thinking twice i want you to go to autozone checker pep boys car quest or what ever is in your area and get 1 can starter fluid and next time she dont want to crank blast sum of that inn throught the upper lid of the cold air box.

Re: not starting in the rain

i pulled the wire off the plug, theres a hood on the truck, and it always has a good turnover. i live in north jersey. its not elevated, but when it rains it does feel damp.

Re: not starting in the rain

Starter Fluid!!! AND see if you cant tune up the idleer pin ? "dont actually raise the whole idle system just the idler pin so it can recorrect it self after it starts" Beyond that im clueles besides the fact that it might just be to moist, but even that is a long shot.
Looks like this 1 might be better for sum of the other guys here to help you with, sorry
