Re: O/D Light Flashing on and off

I had that problem a couple months ago with my 00' Ranger 3.0 4x4. My o/d light didn't come on when I first started my truck but it would come on after I drove about a mile or so. My gears ended up being shot so I had to replace my transmission. According to my manual, it says if your light flashes steadily then there is a transmission malfunction. Hope this helps..

Re: O/D Light Flashing on and off

I have the same problem plus another one!

Shutting down the battery is not an option, is just a temporary rest. If you got a problem there the flashing light will back

I have the auto enginuity scantool and the obdII code say that something is wrong with the EGR valve, I gave thanks to god that I did not run to the parts dealer because this is not the problem, it was the effect of other thing, I tested the EGR sucking the vacuum line with the engine off and the valve works fine, but maybe something is wrong with the vacuum line.

The other problem is too related with the transmission one.

I could observe that the TPS signal is not continuous with the throttle stand, the signal dropdown suddenly and the temperature signal do the same thing.
I tested the resistant of the TPS and is not broken it have good response, however I did install a common resistant of the same value than the TPS one, and the signal keep dropping.

Some Ideas?
