OBD 2 questions
I have a '96 v-6 ranger (actually a mazda). Check engine light came on. The reader for my older fords ('93 sable) doesn't work with the truck.
Seems like the newer readers are a lot more expensive. True? Any suggestions on brand, functions, etc.? I see some hook right to your pc, which I guess would be a laptop. I don't want to spend a lot of money.
Also, the manual doesn't say where the reader plugs in, at least it doesn't say it for the '96. I see something that looks familiar under the hood, but I read somewhere about it being located under the dash.
At 70k miles, I was thinking about just replacing the o2 sensors, but it's a little risky if that doesn't fix it.
btw, the truck runs fine except for the light!
Thanks
