I am seeking information on correcting an evaporative emissions control valve malfunction. The dealer wants $150 to fix it and I told him to shove the estimate where the sun don't shine. As stated in the Title, the code is P1443.
It is occurring oin a 1996 Ranger, 2wd, 2.3L 5 speed. Any assistance in this matter would be helpful since I am tired of clearing the code all the time.

Check the hoses and the solenoid in the system. It could be the sensor in that line. Even though the code calls it the "Purge Flow Sensor", the Ford parts department calls it "Thermistor" and it costs about $25 from Ford.
