performance chip question

I have a 2004 Ranger Edge 4.0,5 spd auto od trans, 3.55 limited slip axle, trailer package, full power options with a/c. Tire size 235/70/R15. I am looking for a computer chip that will give me better gas mileage. Not looking for anything but gas mileage increase as I feel I have plenty of power for what I do.

Re: performance chip question

a chip will be hit or miss. and may not do what you want. as they are usually geared for performance and reducing economy. try a tuner. Electronic Tuning : Underdog-Performance, Stuff For Your Ranger

Re: performance chip question

same applies to you. get a tuner. then as you do mods you can make specific changes to your computer for roller rockers, or an e fan , or a bigger throttlebody or headers. all of which will improve gas mileage if you dont change acceleration patterns. (ie. get on the throttle more because you also have more power)
