My OEM fognlamp lens broke. I don't feel like shelling out $60 at Partstrain for the WHOLE assembly. I removed the assembly and glass.Is plastic such as Lexan,etc. OK for this? I rarely used them,but might need them and want a lens in there. I don't think it's a halogen,as the Osram Sylvania catalog has a Halogen UPGRADE. Will a plastic lens withstandvthe heat?2002 Ford Ranger XLT Supercab 4X4 Off Road.Passenger/Left side needed,Thanks!

I personally think 60$ for that part may be your best option. The replacment bulbs alone cost like 25$ last I remember. Those bulbs are actually hotter than your typical headlamp bulb. As for the halogen, It might not be a bad idea, I personally don't prefer the yellow/blue color you get from them. Check ebay or a junk yard for a used lens

Just curious if anyone knows EXACTLY: What is the OEM bulb? I tried researching it ,but don't know what type it is? I have to put some plastic ,in there for now.Can't "swing" that $60 now OR gas to wrecking yards! I'm Out here in Socal "backcountry mountains.Nearest wrecking yard doesn't have it.Got a small piece of plastic Free at local harware! Thanks

I looked it up on two different sites and they both list OEM bulb part #9145

You can get a whole assembly new off ebay for $27 & a new pair of projectors assembly for $50

I don't wanna get embarrassed right now,so I won't divulge My financial situation. I AM going to cover the Assembly WITH plastic for now. I have a ridgid piece enuff for 4 lenses! I also have some very flexilble plastic sheets,VERY thin,maybe 1/64th or smaller.Does anyone know what the type of bulb (OEM)fog lamp is? Halogen? Incandescent? ?????? It does have a metal "guard" built around the bulb.I'm sure it gets hot.But for now I wanna cover it period,NO cost! Here in these Desert Mountains ,I can just stay home if it ever gets "foggy"!

9145 is a 45 watt halogen.
