Question Power Tailgate Lock for Ranger

Has anyone used or have installed the power tailgate lock? I have the centered hinged Hard Tonneau Cover and would like to be able to lock my tailgate too. Also has anyone heard of having any problems with the power locking tailgate?

confused Re: Power Tailgate Lock for Ranger

Are you serious? People have been stealing taillights? The reason I want to lock my tailgate is that beacause with one of those center hinged covers, you can still open the tailgate even if the cover is locked. I want a way to prevent anyone from stealing anything from the bed of my truck.

Well you can spend at least 200-300 dollars on a good set of alteezas tailights. This can get costly if you have theives takin em. Theives will take anything these days

Re: Power Tailgate Lock for Ranger

haha true 351w.

on the taillight thefts why not make it more difficult for them to steal with putting in torx head screws or a specialty bolt. May cost you a bit more initially but will make it more difficult to steal.

On my friends 3500 Duramax we put on a locking hard cover with the lock on either side. We also did a hinge relocation on the tailgate with the hinge on the internal with a skin on the exterior that was welded in place and the tailgate repainted. We put Torx head screws in for his taillights and the locking rails for the bed cover.
