Ranger Refreshed For ‘04

by the TCC Team/ April 15,2003
Ford’s Ranger will be refreshed in 2004 to face the challenge of Chevy’s new Colorado compact truck. The new Ranger is identified by a new front end similar in style to that on the new F-150. Inside, bench or bucket seats are offered for the first time in leather trim; new gauges are added, with black-face dials on the FX4 model and white-face dials on the Edge and Tremor models. The Tremor audiophile model gets 4x4 capability added to its 510-watt capability, while a new Pioneer stereo system with 290 watts of power is optional on other models. The FX4 also gains a manual transmission option, and off-road models get retuned suspensions. The engines remain largely the same: there’s a 143-hp four, a 154-hp 3.0-liter V-6 and a 207-hp 4.0-liter V-6.
