They're all 2 digit codes, You'll probably have too run it more than once if there are lot's of codes. If you reread the procedure, it tells of a 2 sec. pause between digits and Continuous Memory DTCs are separated from Key On Engine Off DTCs by a six second delay, a single half second flash, then another six second delay. Here's what they indicate. OBD-I Diagnostic Trouble Codes
I never heard them rattle other than their normal ticking, even with low fuel pressure. Can you check the pressure? What codes did you get. It may take afew times to get the feel of how they work.
bought code scanner today pulled codes stored in comp nothing there key on engine off no codes key on engine on o2 sensor pulled codes again nothing .reader said could not detect full throttle test even aftera newthrottle position sensor
here we go again ranger runs real good as long as i keep it below 55 mph any faster and starts running rough after about 1.5 miles and continues until cools down or is it the pickup in the distributor thats a question ive been asking my self since the start of this code 41 changed o2 sensor still runs crappy. can i put an inline fuel pump in to relpace the one in the tank wellmaybe not replace but help boost pressure if it turns out to be low looking for gauge to borrow for that test
Code 41 means lean. Has the fuel filter been replaced lately? A batch of bad gas can mess up a filter in a hurry.
You can't add a pump to help the intank pump and if the intank pump is going out, the other one couldn't pull fuel through it.
Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicles. You are learning a lot though. Sometimes when it rains it pours, as the old saying goes. Maybe after these are fixed, you'll be set for a long time.
yes fuel filter changed a week ago . sitting at an idle seems like there is a slight miss don't have a timing light do you think the timing could do it but why would it continue to run rough after the rpm drop back i am starting to lean towards energy pickup in the distributor gettig hot dirty magnets or whole dist
I think you're on to something there. They do cause problems when they get hot. Hard to find thing easily without expensive and special tools but you seem to be on the right track.
