rear suspension problem

99 B2500,44K
As I round a turn at average speed going over a bump the rear end hops to the ouside of the turn. Its almost frightening. Bad shocks? A result of ABS? A known problem?

I'd say shocks. Go ahead and change them. it isnt to hard. And i agree it can be quite scary when the rear ends jumping all over the place.

This is a live axle characteristic most noticeable in vehicles with predominantly forward weight bias (pickups). Expect it and you will learn to prepare for it with some adjustment as you enter the turn. Stiffer shocks can potentially make it worse, but you do need good H/D shocks.
