Said bye-bye to my Ranger..

Hello all,

With the rising gas prices and my long commute to and from work everyday, I traded in my Ranger. I bought a Saturn. I really wanted to stay with Ford but my salesman wasn't willing to do the work to get me into an Escape or Fusion with reasonable terms.

It's been a pleasure sharing with everyone. My next vehicle will most like be a Ford because I was very pleased with my Ranger (except the gas mileage).

Take care,

Brian

Re: Said bye-bye to my Ranger..

That's too bad. I'm sure the Saturn will treat you as well as the Ranger did. For a compact truck the difference in mileage between the 2.3 to the 3.0 and 4.0L engines is around 25%, that's a good hike. The only thing that aggravates me about the Ranger is the small fuel tank, which gives you low driving range on the larger engines with the reg cab. Cheers.

Re: Said bye-bye to my Ranger..

I went from a Dodge Neon (SRT-4 actually) to my '08 Ranger and gas mileage should be similar, I hope. Plus I don't have to buy premium unleaded now. Good luck with the Saturn.

Re: Said bye-bye to my Ranger..

Just picked up my 2.3/Automatic Ranger a couple weeks ago - 29 mpg 1st tank all highway miles, 24 mpg 2nd tank with some city driving and 26.5 mpg last tank with 75% highway. Very very happy with it.

Re: Said bye-bye to my Ranger..

Welcome! May I call you BB? I got my 02 Ranger XLT Supercab offroad 4X4 in 01.I got "whacked head on" in my former vehicle:Jeep Wrangler. After settling with the "Scumbag Entitled" Insurance and Attorneys(GO TO TRIAL!) I had the cash, which ,I may not have to buy a new one cash again.Got the 3.0L. V6 Auto, and Very good MPG here in Socal. Mountains.Nearest "major town (30miles),one stop sign ,and I'm there!Great driving here in backcountry. No stop lights OR CAMERAS to ENTRAPMENT!Gonna keep mine after 87000 miles,no problems ,to speak of either.Drive it "Till The Wheels Fall Off" ,or by an "Act of God": Hit the Lotto ,or A Meteor falls on it! Of course there's ALWAYS another "scumbag driver" ,to END IT ALL!
