Hi Everyone. I'm new to the forum. Lot's of great info on here.

I have a 1999 Ranger 4 cylinder regular cab.

Question: My speedometer has stopped working all of a sudden. Also, the oil pressure gauge doesn't work until the engine warms up. When the engine has been going for a bit, the oil pressure gauge will jiggle a lot and then will work.

How do I fix this?

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the problem or not, but the back light for my gauges is dim on the outer parts of the gauge area. The areas of battery charge and fuel level are completely dark, but the middle part lights up completely. All the gauges work fine, except for the speedometer and the oil pressure gauge.

Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

The spedometer is controlled by a speed sensor mounted on top of the rear diff. For the oil pressure guage-- a replacement oil pressure sending unit should fix that--unless there is a problem with the guage itself...If that's the case, u will have to get another cluster from a junkyard (not likely). For the burned out/dim lights u will have to remove the cluster to replace the bulbs. It's an easy fix by the way. Good luck and keep us posted!....
