I know this is an old question, but my 1998 ford ranger speedometer is acting up. It works on and off. I have replaced the sensor in the rear axle, which did not solve the problem. This problem started when I had to replace a bulb behind the instrument gauges. I have checked all the connection behind the instrument panel, all are tight. Where else should I be looking for possible problems?

i am just going to atach myself to your first message because i just bought a 1987 ford ranger with a perfect body no rust at ALL. but it has lots of small quirks. the speedomater is dead. the fuel gauge is dead and all the lights in the panel are dead. the brakes also act up on me a litle bit.

just wondering if a ford trucks pro is going to read this could he PLZ give me some tips.
i know nothing about cars so i need a litle bit of advice
