Strange Blinker light problem

Hey there, I have a 02' ranger v6 and out of the blue maybe 2 years ago my blinker lights stopped working and i also had no tail lights. I got my tail lights fixed but still no blinker lights. Ive tried changing the relay with no luck my hazards and reverse lights do work. But when I try to move my blinker switch nothing happens. The strange thing is that when I put on my brake and but my blinker to go left the front left light will STAY on not blink but my right back blinker will stay on as well. but nothing happens when i put my foot on the brake and put it to go right. I dont know what to do and have never seen or heard of this. any advice will help. thanks.

Re: Strange Blinker light problem

Does your hazard flasher work? If not its probably a bad flasher which controls both the hazard and blinkers.

Also check the fuse. I believe its the #22 (15A) fuse.

Check all grounds , but could be a faulty stalk/switch .

Re: Strange Blinker light problem

Could be a bad blinker switch assembly. I've read where users went to replace their blinker switch and discovered a corroded connection and cleaning took care of the problem. Also read where users discovered pinched wires in the area of the blinker switch assembly.

Also check the connector on the back of the turn signal switch. In that era the wires would pull out the back of the connector. Especially if you use your tilt. Can usually get a new connector at a parts store if that's the case.
