I have a 1993 Ranger STX 4x4 I was wanting to see what was involved with swapping my 4.0 out with a 4.6L. Any info would be great thanks alot!

I don't know of anyone who has done this, probably because the late-model OHC Ford engines are nearly as wide as a Boss 429. I don't know that it would fit in a '93. My .02, go with a 302/5.0 because the parts and know-how are already there.

it just depend how bad u want it
comon man im trying to stuff a 429 in my 93 slighly wrecked body
n i got 34 tow straps that said everone was wrong and it would happen
even where i work said u couldent do it, n they got all the tools
u needa get ahold of a good welder
preferibly a speed shop and start comparing rates

Thanks for the feed back guys. i don't know what i want to do my 4.0 is already built and pushing tons of horse, but i like a good challenge every once in awhile so thats the reasoning for the swap. no matter how much horse you got its never enough haha,Thanks again for the comments.
