I want to get a tonneau cover for my 2002 ford ranger edge. I was quoted two prices, $271.00 and $321.00. They said the cheaper one has snaps, the more expensive one has clamps. Whats the difference? Also, how are they to install? Should I pay the $88.00 installation charge incase anything goes wrong or is it easy enough that I wont have to worry about it? Please advise.

I just put one on mine without much hassle. I bought it off of EBay from bones enterprises. It is a no drill mount. It has clamps that fit under the ledge of the bed. It is also snapless. It has a lip that fits into a groove. I Love It!. Just one word of caution, I have a flareside not a stepside and not all tonneaus are interchangable between the two bodystyles. Be sure you know what your are buying. That goes for other accs. too.

I have a TekStyle tonneau I got from Summit Racing for about $230. The rails clamp down on the bed and the snaps are on the rails. I like it because the bows come out easy with a thumb trigger lock on one side. On my second one on my second Ranger, I like it.

It's on the expensive side (~$350), but I recently got a Torza tonneau cover for my 86 Ranger. Initial installation took me five minutes. No need to add any hardware to the bed. The cover just clamps on to the underside of the bed rail. No separate structure bars - it's a one piece unit that's very easy to put on and take off. One drawback - there is no locking mechanism. But I love it.
