Transmission & Tires
I have 2001 Ford Ranger XLT V6 3.0L 4x2 long bed with auto transmission that has 37,900 miles on it and I been having a few problems with it. The gas mileage is absolutely horrible as I am only getting 8-10 mpg in city. I am pretty sure this next problem I noticed is directly ties with the mpg problem as it is very hard when the truck goes from 1st to 2nd gear. I also am hearing a ticking noise when I am idling like every 15 to 30 seconds. I am going to have the transmission flushed today. Any ideas?
The stock tire size is 225/70-15 in which I was wondering if there would be enough clearance if I bought 16X7 rims and installed 235/70-16 tires?
