Yet another A/C thread
Ill start from the beginning. Two years ago my Max A/C stopped working (I could hear it blowing but nothing was coming out of the vents) so I just used the regular A/C. However, the other day I needed to use the defrost because my windows were fogging up and it was somewhat cold so I switched it to heat. The next day I switched it back to cold but apparently it is stuck on heat. I messed with it for a while like turning it on and off and switching it back and forth between hot and cold but it still blows hot air. I opened the hood and looked at the fuses, and they look fine. I also noticed that the compressor is switching on and off just as it should and the pipes running from and to the tank which holds the refrigerant are cold. Sounds to me like there is a bad conection in the A/C control panel or something but I wanted a second opinion before I tried to open it up (also, if anyone could give me an idea about why Max A/C isnt working). Most of the threads I read said that it was a compressor problem or the refrigerant needed to be refilled but that doesnt seem like the case for me since it seems to be cooling just fine.
Its a 97 Ranger XLT 2.3L btw...
