With the resurgence of Ford in the sales race and on the racetrack, we’ve all seen the upswing in support for all things Blue Oval over the past 12 months.

In fact, we’re at the stage now where it takes a considerable amount of forward planning and calendar juggling to find a free weekend or day to hold an event. Posts, PM’s and calls are bouncing all over the place as different clubs try to organize joint events or avoid events clashing and this need not be the case.

If you look at the top of the Forums page – above the logo – you’ll see the links to the other parts for the FF Network. NEWS, TECH & GALLERY most of you should already be familiar with. But if you click on EVENTS you’ll be taken to a Calendar that can be used to post and list all the events that are coming for the remainder of the year and into 2004.

This is linked to the Forums, so you merely have to go through the procedure of setting the date and time of the event and then you can add all the details there or merely link it back to the existing thread here in On The Road.

More than one event per day can be added – when you click on that date it takes you to a list of what’s happening – and you can view the calendar in weekly, monthly or yearly format.

I’ve started adding the events for the FPV-Tickford NSW (Sydney, Newcastle & ACT) Club where I’ve had dates from the Forums to pick out, and I’ll be putting future 3FB events there as well.

As long as this feature isn’t abused, I strongly urge everyone here who is forward planning definite events (by that I mean don’t put something there if it’s only at the ‘expressions of interest’ stage) in any state - be you the FPV/Tickford/XR clubs, FF state events coordinators, E-series guys or anyone else - planning anything from a cruise to a Go-Kart day to a drag meet to get some details in the calendar.

This way all the other event organizers can have a look at what’s already planned and either avoid clashing with an existing event date in your state, or get together with you for a bigger and bolder joint meet…

Good to see teh Blue Oval social/cruise events taking off. About time we matched the Red Army on the roads.

With clubs of all kinds of Fords in full flight as well as 3FB there is no better time for us Ford Loyalists to comeout of the closet and show off our Fords with pride. Excellent work there JR.
