By know those of you who are in my members list would have received an email regarding the next offical meet. This is an reminder to those who haven't checked there accounts or who's emails I don't have.
The perposal is for a meet in late Feburary and early March.Know I have mentioned to you all in the past couple of meets and posts about a possible camp near some sort of water,i.e dam or lake within the hour or 2 drive. Most of you then were all for it which is good to see.I think I said it might be in late January but I figured like myself time off and money's spent over the Xmas break would stop most of us which is fare enough. That's the reason in the change of date.
What do you guys think about this idea??I have a couple of camping/lake spots in mind and weekends to do it in.So far I have had about 4 replys and all with good sugestions. But more would be appreciated.
If you didn't recieve an email from myself I applogise for this but you can send me a hoy on lukeyn39@hotmail.com.
I received your email. I haven't got any suggestions, sorry the only places that I have been to have all been in a 4wd. I don't think that the guys would want to take their babies on dirt tracks that are quite a distance. Only suggestion is though somewhere up the coast, maybe around Montville area.
How's things,Tugboat ok??I was beggining to wonder if I was the only 1 left in the EA-ED club. Thanks for replying.I tell I lie I have received 5 email replys to my email I have sent out to you all but its better then none at all.
I agree and that I don't think to many of us would be acustomed to some 4wd in our Falcons, thats me included.I'l put Montville down anyway.
I would still really like to go as long as its not too far north. hehe..
There is a beautiful spot just outside of boonah, near beaudesert but that may be a little far for some people (?) it has a relatively small entry fee, but has hot showers, toilets and a kiosk etc, lots of cunning little possums that basically sit on your foot too! it isnt far from boonah damn...but im not sure what activities are available at the damn ( huge damn ) What does everyone think? too far? its about an hour and a half drive from Brisbane. Oh it does have a long dirt road to get in but its relatively smooth..one or two cattle grids though, but they shouldnt be a problem even for the super low falcs. It also has its own little waterhole for swimming which is nice and clean. Lots of open space and green grass
Thing are good, and Tug Boat is fine. Tug Boat doesn't have a comp. of his own that is connected to the internet. I usally relay message to him or he has to come to my house and use mine.... But that happens rarely. U can put montville down but I don't know of any camping grounds around there. I just think it's a nice place. Have you looked into camping in caravan parks.

hey i guess wivenhoe is out now cos of bastard terrorists? if you didn't here there was a plot to blow up the wivenhoe dam. the place near boonah sounds good.
six in a row i know where u mean its nice out there. The group from fastfords.org on th coast are planning a cruise over the easter long weekend so if you guys can hold off we all should go together, but we were thinking of goin to northen NSW which may be a bit far for some of u guys. Anyway if ur interested email me webmaster@fastfords.org
we r only goin 4 an overnighter right, like a sat morning leave all day there get pissed sing over a camp fire all that stuff then go to bed and wake up ready to rumble the bronx as we leave and then a cruise somewhere and then home on sunday arvo, well that sounds good to except the singing
Just sayin my peice, all great ideas, i just can't wait, should have been sooner, oh well, theres boonah, thats nice and theres a place on brisbane river near karana downs, thats all for now, Cheers
A drag meet sounds cool too. The guys who went to heathcote looked like they had a ball. Willowbank holds test'n'tunes on most wednesdays and saturdays. Also, a mate of mine works out at willowbank and his old man does a lot of work out there, so might be able to get some sort of discount. Only a suggestion, how about it luke? feel like organising yet another meet?
i know of a couple of places that we could camp or just cruise to, we could go camping at roys road, anyone know where thats is?! If not it is about an hour or so drive towards the sunny coast, and maybe we could cruise to deepwater bend sometime, near braken ridge if none of u know.... The drags idea sounds good too, but thats just my 2 cents guys, have a good one....
sorry i haven't been arround lately i have been busy studing and looking for another job.....jobs need experience but nobody is willing to give it, go figure....end rant. i am very keen for a camping trip, unfortunatly i am tied up till the 2nd week of march.
DRAG MEET!!!!
Sorry for the outburst but I think its a TOP idea...event though I have a basically stock CFi 3 speed auto...but I dont care, would be good to see how slow it is!!
I'm up for it for sure...
As for the camp...its seems like there is a fair bit of support for Boonah..which is actually good for everyone including me as it is halfway between here and Brisbane...
should see if you can talk your way into some private time at the drags crodarian...would be sweet
HELL YES!!!!! i wonder if there is a weekend they arent using the track during the day, could we come and do some runs by ourselves?!?!?!??! THAT WOULD BE SIK MOIT!!!! FULLY!!!!
but yeah, any weekend is good for me - everything waits for a FF cruise!!!
Iam really sorry for the lateness in reply.I have been up to my eyeballs in lifeskills which some of you have already undertaken,i.e buying a house.
The above replys are great this is what I am after.
I thought some of you might want to have an earlier meet which I will organise.
The Willowbank thing is great to.Rollin and I have been on separate ocassion's but I didn't tell anyone my times for shere embrassment. But seems how everyone has speeled there beens here goes.My best run was a 15.2 and that was my first run.Strange hey. From there on it wa 15.4,15.5 and 18(missed second gear). This we will do.
Ok guys, got the ball rolling with the drag:driver: idea. Talked to my mate today and asked him if he could talk to his dad about a group discount for us if we could garauntee 10 or 15 people or something. He said he would ask his dad, but he had never heard of anyone actually doing it before. Guess no one ever had the idea of a club drag session up here before. Highly unlike that we could get them to let us have a private session, as they would still need to employ their safety staff for insurance reasons i think. Willowbank has a test'n'tune almost every wednesday and saturday afternoo/night. Also have street meets, but these are apparently pretty much the same thing. Normal cost is $30 to enter your car and get another person in as pit crew( your girlfriends may have to get their nails dirty lol). I am guessing sat arvo night is best for most of you, but the up side to wednesday is that not as many ppl would be there. Anyways will let you know when i get some more info outta my mate. Could be awhile cos he has a memory like a seive, but i'll keep annoying him till he asks:1poke:
Well Six_in_a_row are you talking about Mogara Dam by any chance??That's the only dam that comes to mind but I could be wrong. On the down side though the old dam is pretty low on water a present even after the little rain we have had.But it still is a pretty good camping spot even if we don't get wet.So far it is looking pretty popular which is good.
I Want a Ford,That website was very informitive.Kenilworth looks like another option to stay very nice camping grounds.Hopefully there aren't to many other people that stay there is well.
crodarian Wivenhoe is another good op as well.It might have a bit more water in it the Mogara but Iam not sure.Either spots look promising. With regards to the drags it might be a hard ask for us to have the track to ourselves but there's no harm in asking.Even on Wednesday nights there is a heap of people out there.I dragged on a Wednesday night and from 5pm-9pm I got 4 runs.It was packed.I think there was about 100-130 cars out there. All staging lanes where full and back in line with the toilet block.
The moving part wasn't to bad.The removalist's were bullet quick and to boot they didn't break anything. But on the downside I marked our bedroom setting.Should of left it to them.O well at least it wasn't my car.
'wezz-svo' I will organise a meet/cruise soon before the camp.
on-its-nuts,I have been on the look out with regards to you question but nothing so far.The overnight 'sum up' is what it should be.Which from the response looks pretty promising.
NAPARM,How are ya??I put you down for both then??
Falcon_Spac,another vote for Boonah is this the same place that Six_in_a_Row was sugesting? What's the place on the Brisbane river have??
Raebird,Roys rd.I think I know the one you mean.Is that the road on the way out of Caloundra heading towards Brisbane on the left hand side.Between those groups of Pine trees??That's a dirt road isn't it.Might be 4WD area, but it might of changed. That road leads to a creek or something,or could that be elsewhere.
biggaben, nice to see you are back.2nd March I'l see what I can do.I can't promise anything though.
Rollin,How did you go with the Evap issue??I assumed you purchased another core.I didn't get that phone call so I hope it all turned out for you??
15.2 was my first run. From there on, there was too much trying.15.4,18(missed 2nd gear) and 15.5.It wouldn't surprise me if I couldn't crack my best time.In my favour though I have tyre issue.I raced with 36psi(rushing around) and I could take the headlight out to get some of that nice cold air action happening.Practise makes perfect. We'l see.
Thanks for the congrats mate. All the worrying is slowly becoming worth it.We now own a Morgage.LOL.
i am keen for a drag meet. hopefully it i will have the gearbox serviced and a new diff.....ooohhh i can't wait. make me feel alittle better a bout flogging the car down the quater.
hey guys i am hell excited about the futer as i have just aquired a new job 2day so i wil b able 2 afford all trips from now on i wil b starting some new mods in the months to come, i.e air bag shocks and a nice big cam. thankyou luke 4 looking around 4 me, it was much appreciated but i got my pick of three jobs today that walking the streets job really does pay off i wil definatly c you guys at the next meet, drags sound sweet but i am hell looking forward to our camp and also the camp being organised by the fastfords boys hopefully they can pull that one off
