yesterday i went to the honda car club of NSW organised track day with some mates.
it was great - there was a huge variety of cars, ranging from modded rexy's to mr2 rotors to stock civics.
for most of the day i was the only ford there :-( but in the afternoon, a vct fairmont ghia rocked up....his car was all stock, but damn he was a good driver...
Anyway, HCCNSW had professional drivers there to teach newbies (ie me) how to drive.
I t was a great day and maybe TOCNSW should consider organsing something like this too...its well worth it!!!!!!
The NSW Mustang club does a trip down several times a year. I went down there last year and it cost the club 85 bucks and 25 for a licence (12 Months)
We had a great day and took my AUII XR6 down for the day, also got to go for a spin around the track with Kevin Waldock in a 355 Ferrari.
The highlight of the day was with a friend in his 70 GT-500 Shelby Mustang. We had a good 40 minutes out on the track and would have to say a certain highlight for any ford/car freak.
I'd keep a tab on our website - nsw.tickfordclub.com
The day is slated for Saturday, January 18th 2003. We've already paid Wakefield Park the deposit so this day will go ahead, be it sunny or wet.
You'll need your Wakefield Park license or buy one on the day (valid for 12 months), suitable clothing and your Ford. We'll be letting members know the price soon, but I'd budget for $120 - really depends on how many members we get this time, the more we get the cheaper it is. Hopefully our ACT branch will bring some up to increase the numbers.
Details on the convoy down from Sydney will be organised towards the end of the year, but we're aiming to have everyone at Wakefield by 9am and it's a 2 hour cruise.

Plus all the ancillaries such as:
- fuel
- brake parts
- tyres
these add up REAL quick. I would seriously estimate that a day of track driving would easily cost $500 provided nothing breaks. Been there, done that many many times.
It's good fun though isn't it??????
