A cruise and BBQ will be held for Newcastle sub-branch members (and anyone else who'd like to join in) on Sunday July 6th.
This is to give all our existing and potential members a chance to get to know each other in a casual atmosphere. We will be meeting at the Beresfield servo at the end of the F3 at 10.30am, and will head off for Nelson Bay at 11.00am. After a photo shoot, we'll settle down for a BBQ lunch at one of the parks up there (I'll be doing a recce drive this weekend to choose a suitable spot!).
Kids/partners/friends are all welcome - just bring along your own food, drinks and maybe chairs or a rug. Will post more details shortly.
Yeah thanks for that. I saw that there were 3 cars entered in Motorex so thought the clash wouldn't be too major (though I'm sure many will attend for a look).
That said, its been brought to my attention that July 5 & 6 is the first weekend of the school holidays (you can tell I'm not a parent!). I would like to get a consensus from people as to whether the weekend of July 5 & 6 would be most suitable for the run, or the weekend of June 28 & 29?

Clicky clicky here for previous ride! I still miss her!
If you had it on 29th, I reckon I could come up for it, and probably quite a few others because of the Motorex the following weekend, but dont change it just for us Sydney guys

Ok, after a few calls and emails its clear that Sunday July 5th is the preffered date for this event, so lock it in Eddie. As mentioned in my earlier post, I'll be having a look at suitable venues this Sunday so should be posting further details that night.
Well, I took a drive up to the Bay today and have found a great lunch location. Its Conroy Park at Salamander, and has 2 gas BBQs, toilets, a kids playground and is right on the water.
