The club has another fantastic cruise on this weekend.

The "Off with the Ferries" thats FERRIES not fairies.......

Heading off from Adelaide Oval, we will cruise up to Wellington via freeway and Mt Barker, and then Cruise the Murray, how you ask?

Using the Murray River Ferries we will go from Wellington along the Murray to Swan Reach, with lunch on the river front at Mannum, afternoon tea at Swan Reach and then into tea at Gawler.

The members that cruised this event last year still talk about it.

At this point in time we have 15 cars coming along, so another visual highlight for those towns we cruise through.

The club held its 11th event for the year yesterday, when we held the "Off with the Ferries" cruise.

11 cars consisting of 7 member cars and 2 cars on their second cruise and 2 cars on their first cruise towards membership, headed off towards Wellington for the first ferry of the day. Another member joined us at Wistow, giving us 12 cars.

The ferry at Wellington holds 10 cars but with a bit of close parking we squeezed all 12 cars on to make the first trip across the Murray. The ferry never looked so good.

From Wellington it was a quick trip to Tailem Bend, and then 3 ferry trips were required to get all the cars across. From there it was on to Murray Bridge, where the locals at a footy game took a great deal of interest as we motored past. Over the old railway bridge back over the Murray River and then to Mannum. Using both ferries we crossed the Murray again in one trip and then went down to the park on the riverside for lunch. Where another member joined us, making 13 cars.

After lunch, we hit the Purnong Ferry and then the Walkers Flat Ferry, after which we stopped for afternoon tea at Swan Reach, and after a quick committee huddle the 2 members on their second cruise were invited to join the club, which they did.

So it was then over the last ferry of the day at Swan Reach and on to Gawler where 30 odd people from the club had tea at Fasta Pasta. from there members headed off home at different times.

Good day was had by all, and we look forward to our next run on 6th June which is The Hills and Dinner cruise, so stay tuned.

I have to agree that this was a fabulous cruise and we had a great time.
These cruises get better every time and the weather was kind to us as well.
It was great to spend time with the regulars and also meeting the new prospective members.
What a great day for the kids.

Brilliant! ....again? As GTP Girl says...they just keep gettin' better!

A reasonable turnout of 11 "starters" (with some of our "regular" members with work commitments) increasing to 13 cars by lunchtime.

The sight (and sound) of the Mustang, XRs and GTs carving through Adelaide and up through the Heysen Tunnel and hills shrouded in fog & misty rain enroute to Wellington, was nothing short of superb.

Even the weather was kind with the mist & light showers gradually clearing to a fine & sunny day by late morning. The roads were fantastic...smooth, winding and interesting. (I personally enjoyed Tez's straight-ahead version of the "left-turn", along with the inevitable (and now traditional) cruise "U-turn" (hereinafter known as the Terry-Turn)

The best part was how all the members (newer & older) intermingled & socialised. And all the kids seemed to have a great time.

And did those machines attract some (well deserved) attention! (particularly at Mannum). Also welcome to the three new members and partners/families.

Again Tez, a superb day...

Have to keep mentioning the U turns dont ya????? How quickly you forget, oh inaugural holder of the title..........he he.

I have to say that in the close to 50 odd cruises since the clubs inception, the Ferries cruise on Sunday was close to the most enjoyable Ive been on.

And it just keeps getting better

The "Events" page will provide a full list of upcoming events, and Sunday 6th June will the link to the Adobe file showing the day's cruise details & meeting place/time.

If you are looking for a club to join, and wish to to join us for the day, you are very welcome. All new or prospective club members are welcome to attend, but please advise the organiser (Brett) if dinner bookings are required.
