Questions about Club Track days..

This may be obvious to some/all of you but I'd like to know if going to one of the track days at say, Eastern Creek, has any effect on my warranty..?

I believe that if I 'race' my car then it's voided but what's the deal if I just do some fast laps and or only drive it fast down the main straight..?

Is there any info you guys can pass on or point me to..?

Thanks

Steve

PS I am not a member at this time.. I am thinking of applying though.. :o)

Re: Questions about Club Track days..

I very much doubt it.The guy in the service dept wont be standing at race tracks looking for you :) .What could go wrong with your car at a track that could go wrong with it "racing on the street"? I would be more worried about racing at eastern creek and hitting walls and having no insurance.
Relax enjoy the thrill of turn 1 :):)

Re: Questions about Club Track days..

Actually guys, any form of motorsport can void your warranty. Even driver training days! Don't tell me you've never heard of Holden/HSV employees going to the drags and noting down rego plate numbers? I can't remember who it was but one bloke I knew was told when he brought his HSV in for a warranty related service that they've got him on record, and if they see him at the drags again, they would no honour any warranty-related claims. Ford hasn't been enforcing it, but they have every right to do that. Not just Ford, everyone!

I was talking to a bloke with an original Evo at the last track day and he was telling me when he was shopping around for a car, Honda told him that he's not allowed to take a Type R Intergra to the track, despite them advertising something like "track-tuned suspension"

If you're going to the track, cover your rego plates or even take them off.

Dont worry about "people writing down your number plate" DOODOODOO (think Twilight Zone music :)Take it to the track, thrash the daylights out of it, and stop listening to people telling you some 'bloke' or other mystery man spending hours of his personal life stalking you at one of many tracks in nsw with a pen and paper(maybe a digital camera) :OF u c k no!
