This is what happened at 5:30am on Friday morning while following Pete down to Melbourne. Surprisingly there was no damage to the car or the rim, and this was while doing 130kmh or so.
Oh and of course thanks to Pete for helping to untighten the F@#@ing tight wheel nuts and his trolly jack.

According to Pete, Minge etc it probably just lost pressure. As the road we were on was pretty much dead straight I didnt really notice it till it was too late. It was feeling a little floaty while overtaking a truck less than a minute before hand, but ive never had a flat before so what the hell would I know.:oo1: :crazy1:
Fortuanatly it wasnt one of the fronts which were bought 2 days before the trip, the back ones had less than 5000kms left on them so I wasnt too annoyed.

Martin, thats one faaaaaarked tyre, a tyre going at 130km/h would be scary.
I had a similar situation where a nail went into the tyre at around 120km/h but fortunately it went flat on an exit ramp at a set of lights the tyre then deflated a bloke behind me ran up and said me tyre was flat, lucky it was repairable.
Always though tyre blowouts were a thing of the pass, guess there not.

I know that feeling. Had same thing happen @ 120km on the Hume. Mine was a brand new tyre, fitted same morning, but did not seal properly so had a slow leak. Car feels fine till you shift the line then .... whoa baby, come back now.
At least when you stop you know all your senses work right. Hope you got the stain off the seat.
It looks from the pics of the w/end, the trip was well worth the journey.
