Sunday 8th August 2004

Just to let you know, we are planning a Test & Tune Day at the Gippsland Dragway on Sunday 8th August 2004.

We have planned it the weekend before the Ford Forums Heathcote Meet to give a few people a chance to try a few new things, and get their car at its peak performance before the Ford VS Holden Meet.

There will be unlimited runs all day long, with a "Top Ten Shootout" somwhere near the tail end of the day, which will be a heads up shoot out of the 10 fastest cars. Trophies & Prizes to Winners & Runner Ups.

Admission Prices will be: Spectators - FREE

Entrant Prices - $40 Pre-Entry
On The Day Entry $50

Fully Catered for on the day, and BYO is welcome.

The track will be having a revamp with around $4,000 being spent on the strip prior to the day, so traction will be great, and the strip will be ready for some FAST runs!

Well Cotto, so far it looks like Independent Motorsports will be bringing some of their customers cars, as well as JPC, and possibly Maztech.

If Vas' JPC supported car can make it, our track record of 5.11, set in 1988 may be in trouble!

Other than that there will be a lot of very fast local cars, running in the 8's, 7's and some into the 6's, but with one in particular running mid 5's! with possibly more coming into the 5's.

Russell from Heathcote is assisting in making the launch pad as sticky as ever, and like I said above, the monies being spent on the complex is really going to brighten things up, and make it a great racer and spectator dragstrip!

As well as the super fast vehicles, there will also be plenty of locals in their stockies & streeters having a go.

Again, any Ford Forum Members that contact myself will only pay the $40 pre-entry fee.

is this going to be a regular happening at Sale, maybe it maight help to list the complete address of the track for people that dont know were it is

Rod,

It has been a regular happening at Bairnsdale for nearly 30 years!

For those that don't know, the 'Gippsland Dragway' is run by the B.M.S.C. (Bairnsdale Motor Sports Club) and our dragstrip is located around 5 mins on the Melbourne side of Bairnsdale.

It is approximately 5 kilometres off the Princes Highway, and is extremely easy to find now that we have resignposted.

give it a go Dennis but one word of warning before you do, it is very addictive

there is no such thing of trying it "once" as you get "hooked" very easy
