Well it's nearing that time again, only a month and a half till our Great Ocean Road cruise. For those that don't already know this is now an annual event and is one of the more popular events that is held. It is run on the first sunday of December, so this year it will be the on the 5th. We had over 30 cars on the last cruise we did. Combined with a the brilliant weather and the number of people it was a fantastic day enjoyed by all. This year the club will be putting on a BBQ as it did last year (weather permitting) which will be free.
The details of the day are as follows:
There are 2 Premeet points. First meet point is at Westgate KFC/Shell (on the outgoing side of course
) and meet time at 8am for a 8:45 departure.
The second is at Ringroad Macca's at 8am for an 8:45 depature. This caters for the members in the western suburbs. Both groups will hopefully meet up on the Geelong Road.
The Main meet point will be at Corio KFC which is the first KFC on the left as you come into Geelong. Meet time will be 9:30 for a departure time just after 10am.
From there we will travel through Geelong to the Surf Coast Highway and make our way to Lorne for lunch. Along the way we will have a couple of regroup points which will give us the oppurtunity for photo's etc.
As usual anyone with a UHF radio is encouraged to bring them along. A channel will be picked on the day. A map/information sheet will be provided at the Geelong meet point.
This year I have a target of 50 cars on this cruise. It may be pushing it a bit but imagine it if we could get that number of cars. We also need to observe our driving behaviour and be aware of other road users. This number of cars isn't going to go unnoticed so it would be greatly appreciated if people could resist the go pedel for just one day.
So with that we need an idea of the people who will go (for catering purposes) and if they will bring anyone else.
