I have a 1991 Topaz, the car runs strong, but when I come to a complete stop it tends to die on me slowly until it stops running. when i turn the key it starts right up. also I noticed that when I come to a stop again, I keep my foot on the brake and a slighty pressure on the gas peddle and it keeps the car from dieing on me. any suggestions??? my idle speed comes down slowly untill the car dies.

I'd make sure engine compression is good. If it is replace the TPS/IAC sensor and give'r a tune up with new plugs that are gaped correctly. Should fix the problem. If it doesn't, then I would think it's fuel related and to have the pump checked for proper operation.
