My Tempo has the 3.0 V6 engine, with an automatic 3 speed transmission. The problem I see with the transmission is it is not equipped with overdrive, only the standard 1, 2, and 3. And I find the rpms are to high at 60 mph, 3,000 rpms. Qusetion: Is there another transmission I can swap in to lower the rpms when I am doing normal driving,ie: street and highway. Like a transmission which has an overdrive.

The only swap possible is one of the Tempo/Topaz 5 speed manual transmissions. There's no O/D automatic available that will mount to the motor correctly, as far as I know.
