I have a 1994 Tempo 4 cyl 278000 miles
Just a few days ago my alternator light came on in the dash at low rpm I had the alternator benched checked and they said it was ok , Then I replaced the battiey and cleaned all the cables . After 1 day the light came back on at low rpm (750 and below) This is even when I have eveything turned off ( radio, air, blower ete ) The belt is ok
my question is what could it be??????

got it fixed today
the shop that benched checked the alternator was full of crap
I took it to a repair shop and had it re tested and it was only puting out 8 amps were it should have been around 14
so 100 dollars later problem fixed

Glad you got it fixed. Next time, put a volt meter on the battery posts and check it for yourself. If I remember correctly, voltage should be 12.5 to 14.3 or so.
