I have a 90 Tempo and the head gasket is blowen because of over heating. I haven't gotten into it yet and was wondering if it has an aluminum head on it or not. It does have an aluminum Valve cover but the head is hard to tell. I was hoping it had a cast iron head because I've always heard that if an engine with aluminum head over heats it will warp the head. I'm a newbie and any help would be great.

Nope.

I have 3 HSC heads on my work bench at home. The Valve cover and intake manifold were alumium. The Head & exhaust manifold are cast iron.

your kidding right. that means all along every pro i ever showed and asked ?s bout my car n shit was wrong. wow so the head can take more of a beating than alot of other cars.....thats also gona make head work cheaper right, even if you port it your self. ?

It seems that 2 of the 3 extra heads I have had a gray/silver paint on them. But trust me. They are cast iron.

Below is a link to pics of 2 of the 3 Tempo/Topaz Heads I have. You can see the surface rust on them. These two are both 89 HSO heads. I've also got a 94 HSC head.
