i'm trying to install a new head unit in a co-workers car and i can't figure out how to get at the factory unit. it seems like the entire dash is one piece. do i actually have to remove the whole thing along with the console just to change the radio or is there something i'm missing. thanks for any help!

Get a set of DIN radio tools. About $5 from about anywhere.

Push them in till they click, push them out (towards the doors), and pull. That is assuming nobody has tried to improperly remove them before. Some people also some coat hangers in a "U" shape and get it done. I've only had success with this method once.

As for if the clips are bent, I've ripped the face off of a radio or two and used 2 flat screw drives to hold the clips in while using plyers to pull on the radio.
