Horn location 92 ford tempo

Hi all:

My horn is not working on my 92 tempo. The fuse is good. I heard the horns are tucked behind the rh wheel inside the fender well. I was wondering is this true and if not where might they be located.

Thanks
Keith

Not sure on the Tempo, but on most vehicles I've dealt with, they are behind the grille

It's located on the right (passenger) side, by the lights. I can't remember if it's below the panel or above, but it's in that area.

Re: Horn location 92 ford tempo

Ok so I found the horns and tested them and they are ok. I am not getting power to the horns and the horns are grounded properley. The 30 amp fuse is good. I now need to know if there is a relay involved and where it might be located?

Thanks again
Keith

There are no relays. Here's a diagram for the system.

Re: Horn location 92 ford tempo

Well found the problem thanks for all the help! The one contact at the horn switch had broken and the wire inside the switch had broke as well. I managed to remove the steering wheel, take the switch apart and MacGyver a new spring (out of a pen) a new piece of wire and a little solder and presto a functioning horn again! Thanks again

PS cost of a new switch from Ford $64 retail....eek!
