Mustang swapout

i was wondering 2 things
what parts of the 2.3 hi swirl 93 tempo block/head/intake/exhaust have similiar bolt patters as the 89 gt stang
for example headers or the throttlebody
#2 what would be good swap out parts other things like maybe the series of alternators or waterpumps the gt cals for, even the radiator or sumthing as smal as a vacume tree?

was there even a 4 cilinder gt?

Re: Mustang swapout

None

The 2.3 HSC is an OHV motor. Basically it's a 200 I6 with 2 cylinders cut off. Infact the 2.3 HSC has the same cylinder bore as a 200. Production on the 200 ended about the time they started making the 2.3, so they used alot of the same tooling.

The 2.3 motor in a mustang is an OHC motor. It's based off of the 2.0L 4 cylinder from the Ford Pinto.

These 2 motor's are from completely different motor families. The good news is that a 2.3 OHC (lima) motor will mate to an MTX-III (which was the 5 speed in a tempo). There's a guy who has a turbo charged 2.3 Lima that is in an 87 Tempo race car. He's hitting like 12 second runs in the quarter.

Re: Mustang swapout

i was looking into it and i foud i have the bigger version cc of the 2.3 according to summit racing. every weekend ive been scrounging out intake's and tb's at the junkyard and things like that for a swap out but am having lil luck.
u dont need turbo to do 12 seconds prolf
u need turbinators and jetfuel 115
and a hardwired fuelpump switch

o ya and on my runs i got the time right it was a 13.557
but the mph is suposta be 103 not 130

last night i found sum sh** this huy had a sick nasty turbo on his 2.3 gt
i mean this thing was souped to the balls
over 1000hp
summit racing stickers everywhere
yo do u think the crane cam in here that says it can raise me yo 8200rpm shift and the valve set, was this all designed for the 2.3 block or designed for the gt with the 2.3 in it?
thanks man r wait did u just say the 3.0 was the gt? got me all confused but i understand everything else

o sh** the same bore, that means i could go get the rings or pistions outa the gt and get em in the tempo? if i were to rebuild it ever?
how deep does the similarties go thanks im just starting to understand the shortcut here
