Hey, what does a stock 93 SHO run the 1/4 mile in? cause this biyatch decided to challenge me to a race for titles when I get my laser put back together. just trying to decide if it will even be ANY challenge, cause the tempo beat a SHO, and all the SHO drivers I've talked to say that the laser should spank them.

A stock 93 MTX SHO should run 15.0-15.5 depending on the driver. Some have been known to go 14.8 but it's rare. A stock ATX should be 15.5-15.8. Even if he has a stage 1 bolt on kit(y-pipe, 80mm MAF, UDP's) he shouldn't be under 14.5.

SHO arn't really 1/4 mile cars. They are quite heavy and traction is limited. Where they really shine is on the highway and racing from a rolling start. That's where they can keep up with the "big boys".

I can't remember what your times were for the Laser but I'm sure you have a huge weight advantage. It will definitely be an interesting race. Good luck!

the laser weighs 2600 pounds before I stripped stuff out, and weighs roughly 2400 now, With the amount of boost it'll be running when I get it back together, race gas on the street is the ONLY way to go hehehehehe, god I love tolulene :-) I'll have to see if she still wants to race on friday, cause I know that after she said she wanted to race for titles a lot of people who had seen the laser run started telling her not to do it cause the laser would spank her car. Well It'll be fun if she does it, cause I need a winter car :-)

At 2400 lbs you'll have nearly a 1000lb weight advantage. The SHO wont stand a chance!

yea, that's what I was thinking, I only have 220 HP or so, but my power to weght ratio is gonna gimme a major advantage. what's the actual HP rating at the wheels on a SHO? I've been told anywhere from 220 to 280, but I know ford is fond of measuring HP from the flywheel and not the wheels

The SHO is rated at 220hp at the flywheel. Probably about 195 at the wheels on an MTX.
