hello all, ive got a 92 topaz that sat for about a year, now i cant get the drivers or pass. window to work, the pass.side went up and down a couple times about 2 inches now its quit completly. i can hear both motors running and seem pretty strong. both back windows work fine any suggestions?

I got a set of factory repair manuals off of EBAY, they don't show a very good picture of the power window assy, from what I can see the motor has a gear on it that meshes with the toothed regulator that runs the window up and down, if you can hear the motors running then maybe the gear or the toothed regulator has stripped or maybe the motor shaft going through the gear has broken a pin or something like that, I guess all you can do is remove the door panel and check out what has happened, good luck, Daveg93

thanx dave,ive been told by a couple of ford mechs. that there is a plastic piece in there thats usually the prob.they didnt go into great detail but said the part was inexpensive but a real pain in the kester to replace,im assuming its a pin or gear,ill find out tomm.
