Hi. I'm new here and came here to (hopefully) solve this problem with my Tempo.
A little background on my Tempo (to better understand what is going on...):
-Has a custom made cold air intake
-Full 2" cat/mufflerless exhaust system (loud!)
-Running 17# injectors (stock 3.8L Mustang injectors)
-Brand new clutch/throw-out bearing/flywheel (yes, it's a 5 speed)
-Has 58K miles on it
-2.3L 4 cylinder
-Head was rebuilt; including ALL gaskets from head gasket to the MAF gasket
Now the problem I'm having is that my poor Tempo has had a small whining noise since I bought it about 2 years ago. It was annoying, but barely noticeable. I really do NOT think it is the intake gasket due to it happening before the rebuild and still happening after the rebuild. And really "boomed" after the CAI.
Has of late, and especially after my CAI, the noise (obviously) got louder. Ear piercing loud. The car used to stall till I changed out the throttle body. Now it don't stall, but still has a whine.
Most recent video of the intake noise. Was actually taken earlier today. Anyone know what is causing this noise?
