Just to show you how resampling (rather than resizing) with a decent image editor comes up with better results. I resampled at 800 x yyy (yyy=value to maintain aspect ratio) and ended with a 28k jpg.

i dont have a decent photo editor.
ive only got paint, photo imporession 2000 and photo studio 2000 both by arcsoft (one came with dads digital cam from work the other from our new scanner that doesnt work)
