In an interview on ch10 today, Marcos hinted strongly that he is looking at NASCAR for next year.
When Leigh Diffey (i think) asked him "are you ready for Nascar next year?", he didnt deny it. He said that he was talking to Ford and looking overseas for new opportunities

Just saw it on Ch 10 news, they seem pretty certain he'll be in Nascar next year. This sucks.
He had a number of clauses written into his contract if he had opportunities overseas so it is possible.

Hopefully it won't be for a full season,only maybe a few races that don't clash with the V8's.

I hope the news is wrong. This man has almost single handedly given Oz Ford V8 Fans something to cheer about. It was bad enough seeing Geoff Polities leave Ford OZ, but if Ambrose leaves I for one will be gutted.

this could be very good news for craig lowndes if ford can beat the deal holden is sure to offer him at the end of the year is whould be the mostlt likely driver to get the seat at sbr

yeh thats what i was thinking jeff. lowndes will be at sbr for sure, id imagine its already lined up considering that triple 8 are running sbr engines this year.

Ambrose like most other V8 Supercar drivers have dual contracts : 1 with the motor car company ( FORD / GM ) and another commitment to the Racing team ( SBR etc etc )

In Ambrose's case, FORD's commitment to the NASCAR fraternity in the USA has opened a huge door for him as a contracted FORD driver that must have been to sweet to pass up.

Why would you be dissapointed?
It's a great oppertunity for him, he went overseas before he
came to v8s but ran out of money or some such.
We have plenty of talent coming in behind him, sure it's a blow to the front line but thats the way it goes. At least it's not a switch to Holden for a new challenge.
