Mark Martin made real inroads into the championship lead after the first road race of the season. Repected Robert Yates driver Rick Rudd won the race for another Ford victory and a continuation of the yates teams recent return to form.

Mark Martin's top ten finish now sees him jumping two places and to within 63 points of the championship lead

Poor Jerry Nadeu, i was so looking forward to a Petty Enterprises victory. Has been so long since they won a race.
Boris Said sure did some stupid things during the race.

Overall though a very entertaining 3 hours and a FORD victory
