Not sure if anyone caught V8 Superstars today.

AVESCO Chairman Tony Cochrane alluded to a change in the Bathurst format in 2003 to a single driver multi race format.

As expected the alluded change was not well received

Would think not!
Some things it is ok to mess with but this is absolutely inviolate IMO.
But then Cochrane has had his head so far up his a@@ of late that nothing he came up with would surprise me.

It wasnt Bathurst! he was reffering to the Queensland 500...

Do you serioulsy think anyone would try and make one driver go for 1000km not stop? I think not!

I thought it was the Queesland 500 he was talking about,, not bathurst....All the drivers were going on about not having a warm up to bathurst for the second drivers if Q 500 was 1 driver only...

sorry i thought he was talking about changing bathurst to a single driver multi race format, im tired so i obviously misheard.

when they were talking about driver pairings I thought the were talking about bathurst and the Q500 came up later specially seeing the audience reaction was quite vocal

Driving a truck 1000km isn't quite the same as driving a V8 Supercar the same distance...

Tony Cochrane said they wanted to split the QLD 500 into 2 x 250km races. The drivers were against it because they reckon that it doesn't give their co-drivers enough experience behind the wheel of a V8 Supercar.
