Here's my best and worst of V8 Supercar racing in 2003. Any comments?

Too much safety car (there must be a solution to this!)

BEST:
watching ambrose wip some holden ass at sandown yesterday
also watching steven Johnson doing a MASSIVE burnout while standing with the door open and one leg on ground, and the other firmly planted on the accelerator!!!!!!

WORST:
Watching Mark Skaife dominate a seriously screwed first 7 or 8 rounds
And channel tens coverage which i must say is extremely poor! (they didn't even cut to ambrose until he was 10 metres from the line, instead showing TWR cars!)

Worst was both the coverage, but mainly

The godamned safety car and race format.

Get rid of the safety car, bring back softer compound tyres and smaller fuel tanks so cars HAVE to pit. Make the races like 200km each with a fuel tank that last likes 3/5 or something.

The best thing about this year was seeing the boys giving it their all, even if it was too no avail, and knowing the BA is on the track next year :D

reading all the sooky comments in the forums after the event.

I thought Channel 10's coverage was quite good. Didnt seem that bad to me ,and cut to a lot of incidents quickly. They just need to Barry Sheen in the booth (not on pit road) because he adds so much character to the commentary. If he gives the game away completely due to his illness (get well soon Bazza) then they need to replace him with that kind of personality. A bubbly personality, that has a history to boot.

Best:

- Marcus Ambrose's Third - He worked so hard for it, and deserved it like no other Ford driver. Take Skaife out of the equation, and he would of been second in the championship, something he just missed out on, but next year will at least have, or the one better

- Watching Besnard drive past Kelly - I screamed, shouted and danced (no shit) around the house when he passed him, and did the exact same when he won the race. Truly a memorable occurance and made me feel very very good for the rest of the dya.

Worst:

- DJR performance this year - Not embarassing, just disapointed because they have been the Ford team i grew up watching the series with.

- Barry Sheen's Illness - Shocked me, and everyone and the commentary really lost out when it happened.

I think just about everyone here did exactly the same. It was the best. Last year, when the rat won @ Sandown (I think) and it was pissing down, and he went off. I could have died. But then the race was black flagged and it turned out that DJR won... Seeing the look on DJ's face was priceless.
