Bloody canberra.
I agree with the seniments expressed in this forum after the weekend.
I follow, but haven't watched a round this year simply because I don't enjoy watching the Commodore touring car series.
What's the point? 80% of races are won by Holden, and 70% of those won by Skaife.
HRT currently does the best job and they do deserve these results, but in the German Touring car Championship each time you win you get 20 kg of ballast added to the car. Keep winning and you keep getting heavier...up to a point. This is removed after a few rounds of not winning.
I also dislike the lack of manufacturers in the championship. I drive a Ford... I love it, but I would like to see some variety, instead of Falcons and Commodores. Something similar to group A regs.
Another thing that irks me is the continual going on about aero packages. Stuff them I say. They make the cars look different to what we can actually buy. All they need is a simple aero kit that keep it on the ground at 200 plus kays.
Also lets get some sliding back into it. Let them hang the arse out a bit more. Give them a tyre that will last for yonks so we can see some good old sideways action.
This is all just a thought. Because the series relies on two manufacturers, if one pulls out, then it's pretty useless isn't it? This could occur, especially if people get annoyed and don't go to rounds or watch it.
My bet is that in 5 years time the current format would have changed, otherwise it will slowly die.
