I thought the black flag was to stop a dangerous car/driver and reduce the risk to other competitors &/or the public. This stinks of politics to me!
I'd rather the teams decided what banners they ran on the windscreens. The bloody horrible Ford (is it purple) banner ruins the appearance of some cars whose whole colour scheme has been designed for the sponsors that are putting some money their way. Good on Gore for stirring it up a bit.
While I'm still happy to play along and cheer for (most of) the Fords teams and despise (most of) the Holden teams I do reconise that V8SC's are now basically a sillohette formula and the original vehicle structure and recognisable outer panels make very little difference.

If no money's coming his way I don't see how Ford would have any say in his teams operations and which vehicle he chooses to base the race cars on.
