Well after a great weekend at the Stegbar 400. Except the result and the weather.
I heard on the radio this morning that next year they wont be hosting the V8's in canberra again.
Apparently the numbers were down last year by 15% and they lost 2 Million dollars in costs.:

So whats happening with the world! By the sounds of things they would rather see Floriad ( 1 month of flower displays ) than see fords and holdens ripping up the bitumen in canberra.
I would be interested to see if this does actaully happen

I think one of the main reasons for the 15% decrease would have to be that its on the long weekend. People who live in canberra would go away for the weekend (well i would if i lived there) so they are relying a majority of people to come from further away. Not saying that they wont stop coming -- but to attract more people from canberra, have it on a weekend when they havent all left

From what I understand its just a possibility of being canned.
There was an interview last night with the organiser and he said planning for next years race has already began and that it could be moved to April due to better weather?

Only took them 3 years to figure out that June in Canberra is one of the coldest months.

Also as XLR8_2001 pointed out a lot of Canberra people might be going away on a long weekend.

In Race 3 towrads the end I heard the commentator say that Tod Kelly was being black flagged, presumably for holding up Lowndes, what happened about that? Lowndes was still given third place wasn't he?

He was being given the bad sportsmanship flag, not a black flag.
And it was a load of BS, they should be allowed to race for their positions, not have to yield because some official not on the track things they should wave a flag and let the other guy through.

OK. When I saw Lowndes he didn't look to have the speed to get past Toddler in any case, I was wondering why they were talking about black flags. I think there is some rule that when there are only a certain amount of laps left you can block as much as you like?
