In response to some confusion amongst teams and media, Ford Motor Company of Australia and global motorsport and engineering company Prodrive wish to confirm the previously stated ownership position of the Ford Performance Racing team.
Ford Performance Racing is 100% owned by Prodrive – Ford Motor Company of Australia has no equity in the team.

Prodrive acquired Glenn Seton Racing in January 2003 and after negotiating a sponsorship arrangement with the Ford Motor Company of Australia, it was decided to call the team Ford Performance Racing.

The naming of the team is no different to any other sponsorship arrangement in motor racing or for that matter sport in general.

Ford Performance Vehicles is a joint venture between the Ford Motor Company of Australia and Prodrive. The make-up of this joint venture is 49% Ford Motor Company of Australia and 51% Prodrive.

No some d***head holden fans tried to stir up crap by saying Ford owned FPR and that the ownership case was no different to the HRO crap....Simple.

It was in Motorsport News I think where they said that FPR was 51% Prodrive and 49% FoMoCo. They were obviously confused as to the difference between FPR and FPV.

thats a bit obvouis as FPV and Ford are manufacters and if im right you cant have manufacters owning the teams *cough* holden *cough* so i dont think ford would cheat or bend the rules *cough* holden *cough*

Not related to team ownership, but remember the lightweight bodyshells, or the DJR undertray "brace" that conveniently acted as an extension of the front splitter....
Don't say ford/their teams have never bent the rules....

other than being made to run extra weight to bring the bodyshells up to the minimum weight I don't remember ford being penalised for the lightweight shells.
If holden had done the same everyone here would be calling for them to be banned, or saying "why don't ford put superchargers on their cars". I am getting sick of all the non constructive crap that gets posted as little more than a whinge, and I am sure plenty of others are as well. If you look at the rules, HRT/HRO/Whomever are good at exploiting loopholes to get what they want, if there were not loopholes to allow it then they wouldn't get away with take the latest murphy testing scandal as an example, they found a loophole that allowed them to test, and they exploited it, now the loophole is going to be closed to stop them doing it again. Team brock is now in the hands of kees weel, for all the difference, it makes, which will equal exactly 0, the holden ownership of HRT was done against the rules yes, but who wants to see Ford win with the best team taken out of the equation anyway, I sure as hell don't, I want to see them fight with the best in the business, and come out on top, give holden enough time and they will setup the team with al alternate owner, but the difference that makes will also equal exactly 0, it's not going to suddenly mean they will have less resources, or loose sponsorship. They will continue on their merry way being the best team in the business.

I don't remember if anything happened to DJR or not about the undertray extension, so i can't really comment on this issue.
