The common man

It is good to know that one manufacturer and racer is still looking at usability over performance.

At the launch of the new "Enzo" Ferrari (ex-f60 concept) Ferrari president was not only able to state figures like 660bhp, 350kmh anf 750kg of downforce at 300km/h, but he has taken the eminantly sensible step of disclosing "the Car also generates downforce at "usable" speeds of 334kg at 200km/h"

What a relief to the common man that whilst driving our 6 litre monsters through the shopping centre carpark at 200km/h we will have some "usable downforce" to help evade the errant troley. Now if they would just make the boot big enough to get a set of golfsticks in or a backseat big enough to take the boys to the footy we might all buy one!!

Think the above post might belong in the Assylum...

It's different strokes for different folks. You don't buy a Ferrari to drive to the supermarket or to the golf course and you don't buy a Hyundai Excel to compete at LeMans!

That's right - and most people don't put wings on their boots for downforce, either!

Jase.

Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh, downforce ???

so thats why those charades, mirages, excels etc have those big wings on the boots and roofs.
