DJR to unveil livery and drivers next week
Shell Helix Racing will be revealing their new driver line-up, cars, livery and uniforms at a private sponsors function to be held at Dick Johnson Racing Headquarters, this Tuesday the 18th of February.
Be watching ‘Sports Tonight’ on the 18th of February for the first pictures, and look out for feature stories in ‘Auto Action’ and ‘Wheels’ this month.
We acknowledge that some of you are disappointed with the departure of Paul Radisich from the team, but can assure you that with all the plans we have in store for 2003, in 12 months time you’ll be a happier DJR fan!
The development of our two new Shell Helix A Falcons is progressing as planned and will see us field both new cars on the grid at the Australian Grand Prix.
Our first test session in the new Shell Helix BA Falcon will be at Willowbank Raceway on Wednesday the 26th of February.
In other news, Steve Johnson has been undertaking an intense fitness program over the summer months and is now a shadow of his former self.
Having shed close to 20 kilograms, Steve is as pumped up as ever to get into the drivers seat of the new BA and give the Championship his best shot ever.
You may have also heard that there is another addition to the DJR stable in 2003, in the form of Super Sedan supremo Tony Ricciardello, who will this year contest the Konica V8 Supercar series in a DJR prepared AU Falcon sporting DJR & Biante Model Cars livery.
Also, for those of you in Melbourne, Shell Helix Racing will be displaying the new BA Falcon and merchandise at the Australian Motorsport Show on the 21,22 & 23 of February at the Royal Exhibition Buildings in Carlton. Drivers will also be on hand throughout the day for a chat and autograph.
For those of you keen to get some pre-season V8 action, Steve Johnson will be racing his Shell Helix AU Falcon down the runway at the International Airshow at Avalon in Victoria this weekend.
