Thumbs up FALCON wins at Wakefield 1/6/03

Yesturday I went to down to see the PROCAR Series at Wakefield Park

It was FORD vs HOLDEN in the V8 BRutes Series...
With which i managed to get my hands on a Corperate Pass

And who was to Win... yes it was Mighty BA Falcon

Also saw BROCKY make his come back to racing in the Nations Cup...
But he was happy sitting in 5th the whole race...

John Bowe kicked everyones ass in his Ferrari 360 GT... so there ya go

ill put up some of the pics I took from the Corperate Pavillion

was a EXCELLENT & EXCITING day at the track...

OTHERWISE... you can also check it out at

There are no BA's in the Brute series.

The one that you are talking about is actually an AU with BA panels.

No, a BA XR8 ute has a DOHC, 5.4l V8 - an AU with BA panels has an pushrod 5.0l Windsor, the AU chassis, etc.

It's not a BA.

I know you are right in saying that the Brutes are not BAs and they are AUs with body parts but just remember the V8 supercars don't have the 5.4dohc engine either..................
Also consider that the BA utes had nowhere near the amount of work done on them compared to the sedans so it is probably down to the interior and the engine that separates the AU and BA along with some other minor stuff.
If you use the obvious comparison of skaifes hybrid VY then you would have to say that the Brutes should be called BAs

The V8 Brute Utes have 240kw and 330mm Groved Disc Brakes. I dont think there is to much work involed.

They're as close as possible to road cars, apart from exhaust, brakes and suspension changes. I saw Mad Dog engine wide open once, even the intake was stock.

It depends on the driver thou. Luff is simply the best driver there, he wins whatever car he drives. He used to drive SS very early last year.

I love the utes. Can't wait till they use the new Boss next year.
